Publication HUB

I think I'm finally entrenched in the blogosphere. I'm starting to think of my blog as what could be called a publication HUB due to planets and trackbacks. I'm going to define a publication HUB as a single place that a publisher needs to go to publish all of their publications. Personal blogs are such a technology.

I can write an article, record a song, etc. and post it up on my blog. Select sites that watch my feeds can then easily find out about new publications of mine and incorporate them into their sites. My blog can also tell another blog that I've published something that might be of interest.

I can do all that from a single site, my site, with whatever user interface that I'm comfortable with. Now that does beat the old old days of having to mail out individual copies to every person who was interested in what I published. It also beats the old days (circa 1999) where I had to submit my publications individually to each site that was interested. 2004 removed the individual submittions, I only have to goto my blog and publish.

In 2005, I suppose the only thing left to be removed is the "I have to goto my blog to publish", so the publication process becomes "I just have to publish".
