Indecision 2004

Ack, choosing to vote is turning into a pain in the ass. Flipping a coin or sitting at home would be much easier. At least I know who to vote into Congress—Dave Sanders.

So I listened to Dr. Peikoff's Lecture tonight expecting a message from a nutty old man. I even came up with an analogy for him: "Plato is to Socrates as Peikoff is to       . But he made me flip-flop again. He said 20 years ago he would not have chosen Kerry, for obvious reasons, but Bush poses a greater danger than Kerry on Bush's fundamental religious grounds. His conclusion was based on his new DIM hypothesis which is about Dis-integration, Integration, and Mis-integration. He pointed to the writings of John Lewis which led me to The Threat of a Fath-Based Defense of America.

So I decided to make a list. What I don't like about Bush and Kerry. Here's what I came up with:

Bush

  • Amendments: Bush has two amendments in the works. One defining mariage as between a man and woman, and another against flag burning. Personally I do not want to see mariage any where in the Constitution. If anything I would want to see an amendment saying mariage is a contract between two people. The government needs to do no more than abitrate marriage like any other contract.

As for flag burning, I should be able to burn whatever I damn well please—as long as I own it. Neither one is an amendment I support, and both don't guarentee any rights but take them away.

  • Civil Liberties: Bush has shown no respect for civil liberties. I cite his signing of the "Patriot" Act and the Guantanamo Bay detainees. Abu Graib if and only if the order was issued from Rummy's office.
  • War: Bush knows nothing about war. Not who the enemy is or when to say it's over. He's done missed Iran twice, hitting countries to Iran's east and west. This could be genius if and only if it destabalizes Iran, but I doubt that'll happen considering the anti-US sentiments that are growing in Iraq. He also declared major combat operations over way back in 2003. Last time I checked we were still battling it in Najaf squashing rebellions and making mass graves like Saddam, instead of moving out to patrol Iraq's borders to watch a republic, no a democracy, no a theocracy form.
  • Cheney and the other cronies: What are these guys doing? Oh, right. Pissing on the Constitution and setting fire to the Declaration of Independence.

Kerry

  • Vision: Kerry's vision as laid out in A Call To Service might as well be writen by Lenin. His health-care plan is probably the same as Bush—more government, unless Edwards wants to prevent other lawyers from playing the game he played. I'm for his energy plan. Fuel cells should have been here yesterday so a hydrogen based economy can be realized—especially while Greenspan is still alive so he can get his mind off of gold. Kerry's vision of the PeaceCorps is what irks me. He may just be resentful of his Vietnam experience and the draft, but if I had to give my time to the government in high school, I would be no where near where I am now. Besides the fact it smells like slave labor.
  • War on Terror: I haven't read it, but I know Kerry has writen a book on terrorism. So at least he's identified the enemy and how they work. That's more than Bush.
  • Big Government: This will have to be seen. Especially with a government that's deeper into the red more money than I have ever seen in my life. At the same time he wants to see deficits. He may just need to outsource some jobs to realize big government and deficits. It looks impossible.
  • Skipper Kerry:Quoting form John Lewis' article:

But elected officials do not always act as they claimed they would during a campaign; the fact that Mr. Kerry will say anything to anyone to get in means he will do anything to stay in.

So who knows what exactly Kerry will do. Turn this boat straight at the enemy and gun it leaving no survivors to tell of his heroism?

So I guess we have more to worry about with Bush. I'll see which way the coin lands come election day. Bush—heads; Kerry— tails...

Marriage

YOU MISSPELLED MARRIAGE, FOR ONE. SECOND YOU ARE A KOOL-AID DRINKING STINKING LIBERAL..YOU ARE LIKE THE COPPERHEADS OF LINCOLN'S TIME.
DO THE WORLD A FAVOR, DON'T BLOG BUDDY!

Thanks

Thanks for the spelling correction. I'll take the rest as a compliment since you are the one person so far telling me to shutup. Short of a man inclined to do things like Saddam Huisein, like chop off hands and cut out people's tongues I don't think I will shutup. I'll continue on sipping my Kool-Aid and scribling whatever comes to mind hoping the ink won't stand up and walk off of the paper.

And if I'm going to be labeled as a liberal then I might as well straighten this up now. Call me a conservative liberal or a liberal conservative. Both those words mean nothing to me.
