Well this sucks. I've basically rendered my computer useless as I upgrade to X.org's X11R6.8 server. I had to delete the X server that I was using, and was shocked at how many programs depend on the X libraries. Emacs, links, mplayer, and PHP just to name a few that aren't necessarily programs that need X to run. So I'm stuck using lynx from the shell account Root Route provides to post this update. This has put a damper on my night. I was hoping that Emacs would at least work, then I could have logged onto Jabber. I did get a cover letter written. Maybe if I'm lucky enough I'll be able to type it up tomorrow in a beautiful new desktop. I'll be a little pissed if X.org's server doesn't work, or a bunch of programs need to be updated. I'll leave the grips until later. Hopefully I'll be able to post a screenshot of a desktop nearly on par with Mac OS X's. That's the benchmark I'd like to see my computer reach. I'll find out soon enough.
Sleep will help the time pass on this one.
