Voting Against Anger

George W. Bush had a moment during last nights debate that gave me a reason to vote for John Kerry. That was his angry plea to the American voter, me, to vote for him. Sorry Mr. President, but anger directed at me only makes me more resolute in voting for Kerry. I don't need someone telling me what to do, especially by someone who wants something from me. A simple request, sugar-coated with a please, may have worked but out of desperation I get a demand. A demand that shows no respect for me, an American voter. And someone who shows no respect towards me will receive nothing from me.

shortsighted?

I respect your opinion, and were you deciding which of two applicants to be a fry cook at the McD's you manage, I'd agree with you. But the job of president of the US is a bit more complex. I would take the anger thing with a grain of salt and not use that as your deciding factor--were I you. I'd rate that with the size of Kerry's chin, for exmaple. :)

Seriously, if this is the key thing for you, great, at least you can say you have an opinion with reasons to back it up. But maybe you should think from a 10,000 foot view?

Nail in the coffin

That was just the nail in the coffin for Bush IMO. I'd say that was the turning point of the debate for him since he couldn't regain his composure.

And I don't know if Bush could get promoted from a fry cook at McDs. I can imagine him being a manager at one with cars wrapped around the building:

The burger flipper yells out, "We're running out of beef George! There's none left in the walk-in. We need to call another store and get some."

"We will not call another store for more beef! We have enough beef. Sell more McNuggets and make smaller patties!"

Of course that has some parallels, and could be drawn out. It could make a nice comic strip: "McDubya's". Maybe we can see where his priciples take him. I'd hate to his store's profit and loss statement.
