I discovered Jabber.ru's RSS feed service. So if you're an XMPP/Jabber user then you can add nolanscorner@rss.jabber.ru to your roster to be notified when I post.

I'm in the process of switching hosts. Part of that is moving my blog to a new address. The new address is http://nolan.eakins.net/. So update your bookmarks. The old address should still work thanks to mod_rewrite. It should forward to the new address along with everything after it.

If anything turns up broken tell me.

I would also like to know if there is any pre-existing script that'll log into my account, go through my roster, and reapprove and re-request presence subscriptions? That'll keep me from having to go through 40 contacts by hand.

I just checked my comment approval queue. There was a comment that told a story and contained a single link, but I'm left wondering this: why must the content of comment spam make references to animals and sex?

All I can say is that their are some sick spammers on the loose who would do extremely well in a prison.

I did have a news aggregator going, but after reading this article I decided it would be best to take it down. Just trying to be a good netizen. It'll be back once a proper PubSub news distribution system gets setup, which would have news items pushed onto the site instead of it having to poll for them.
